At Dawning

by Nelle Richmond Eberhart

When the dawn flames in the sky, I love you;
When the birdlings wake and cry, I love you;
When the swaying blades of corn
Whisper soft at breaking morn,
Love anew to me is born, I love you,
I love you.

Dawn and dew proclaim my dream, I love you;
Chant the birds one thrilling theme, I love you;
All the sounds of morning meet,
Break in yearning at your feet.
Come and answer, come, my sweet,
I love you, I love you.

Lucy's discovery

I found this analogy enlightening, and I thought I should share it with you:

“Aslan,” said Lucy, “you're bigger.”
“That is because you are older, little one,” answered he.
“Not because you are?”
“I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”

(Excerpt from 'Prince Caspian' – Chapter 10)

"Truth always endures. Truth conveyed through a sanctified imagination becomes brighter and clearer, leading those who follow 'further up and further in' to God’s glorious presence."
-- Peter Kreeft, speaking of C.S. Lewis' portrayal of knowing Christ

"People are crying out for God to reveal Himself. The problem with the world, as in Lewis's book, is that people want God revealed on their terms and in accordance with their pre-expectant definitions.
"But, God does not live according to our expectations. It is only when we realize that we must view God on His terms and in accordance with His wishes, that we begin to see the smallest part of who He is. Over time we discover more and more of what we have missed in the time we wasted trying to define God by what we want instead of who He is.
"For it is not a matter of discovering God, but recognizing that He is discovering us and helping us to see ourselves as He intended us to be.

--Michael McLarney, Christian writer and author

So, in summary, the more you find out about Christ, the more you will find that you don't know! God only gets bigger and bigger the better you get to know Him. Awesome, eh?

You asked me why

14-02-2010

Just because I want to love you
Just because you make me smile
Just because I know I need you
Just because you're worth the while

Just because I feel so blessed
Just because you changed my life
Just because you make the difference
Just because you asked me why

Just because you feel like velvet
Just because your hand fits mine
Just because I know I love you
Just because it's Valentine's

The Beauty of Change

"Right now, the beauty of all of this change is that it is forcing each disciple and each lover of Christ back to the basics of their faith, the basics of their love, the basics of their life. It’s forcing each one to realign their focus and think about what it’s all about and what they’re on Earth for. It’s causing a stirring within the ranks—a positive stirring, a stirring of hearts drawn closer to their Lord and Lover."

Let go

"They say the reason why breaking an addiction is so difficult is because no matter how bad something hurts us, letting it go hurts even more."

What If?

Nichole Nordeman

Excellent song for rethinking your dedication and beliefs:

What if you’re right?
And He was just another nice guy
What if you’re right?
What if it’s true?
They say the cross will only make a fool of you
And what if it’s true?

What if He takes his place in history
With all the prophets and the kings
Who taught us love and came in peace
But then the story ends
What then?

(Chorus)
But what if you’re wrong?
What if there’s more?
What if there’s hope you never dreamed of hoping for?
What if you jump?
And just close your eyes?
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise?
What if He’s more than enough?
What if it’s love?

What if you dig, What if you dig
Way down deeper than your simple-minded friends
What if you dig?
What if you find
A thousand more unanswered questions down inside
That’s all you find

What if you pick apart the logic
And begin to poke the holes
What if the crown of thorns is no more
Than folklore that must be told and retold

(Repeat Chorus)

You’ve been running as fast as you can
You’ve been looking for a place you can land for so long
But what if you’re wrong?

What if you jump?
And just close your eyes?
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise?
What if He’s more than enough?
What if it’s love?

Dream Big

"If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life."

It was You

12 Stones

(This is for You. I've only become what I am this last year because of You. Thank You for always being there for me and never giving up on me. I wouldn't be here without You, Lord...)

It was you
That showed me who I am
And taught me how to stand
For what I know is real

I was sick of all the pain
Tired of all the shame that I felt
But you showed me a way
To never have a doubt
And always to believe in myself
Now I see

It was you
That showed me who I am
And taught me how to stand
For what I know is real

Now I'm breathin for the first time
And I'm leavin, all this behind
I've become, what I am because of you
It was you

I'm so sorry 'bout the ways
but I can't take away my past
But you love me anyway
And now I wanna do
Everything for you that I can
Even though it won't erase
The foolish things that I've done
Things that blinded me
But now I see

It was you
That showed me who I am
And taught me how to stand
For what I know is real
Now I'm breathin for the first time
And I'm leavin, all this behind
And I'll stand
For what I know is real

So how can I make this up to you
I'll fight and I'll push and I'll strive
Now that I'm living my life for you
I'll fight and I'll push and I'll strive
Can't you see

It was you
That showed me who I am
And taught me how to stand
For what I know is real

Now I'm breathin for the first time
And I'm leavin, all this behind
I've become, what I am because of you

I can see the writing on the wall
As time begins to crawl away from me
And I've become what I am
Because of you
It was you
